"Multimedia Resources for Teaching, Learning and Assessment", organized by CIET-NCERT

NEP 2020 states in clause 24.4 section (d), about content creation. “A digital repository of content including creation of coursework, Learning Games & Simulations, Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality will be developed, with a clear public system for ratings by users on effectiveness and quality. For fun based learning student- appropriate tools like apps, gamification of Indian art and culture, in multiple languages, with clear operating instructions, will also be created”. Further section (g) focuses on training of teachers in learner-centred pedagogy and creation of high quality digital content using online teaching platforms and tools.
Digital content creation and training of teachers on content creation is a regular activity of CIET-NCERT. In line to that, a five-day online training on "Multimedia Resources for Teaching, Learning and Assessment" has been planned. Multimedia resources provide a balanced mix of text, images, audio, and video for an immersive experience. These resources augment the learning experience by deploying various media for visualization and explanation of abstract ideas. Keeping in view the diverse needs of learners, now the use of multimedia content has become an essential component of teaching, learning and assessments. As a content creator, it is important to understand the concept and types of multimedia resources along with its development process and tools.
With the vision of enhancing professional skills of the teacher, CIET-NCERT is organizing a five-day online training on "Multimedia Resources for Teaching, Learning and Assessment" from 22-26 August, 2022 from 4.00 pm - 5.00 pm to leverage the understanding of teachers, students, teacher educators, and various stakeholders on the multimedia resources, their types, availability of these resources, process of development and FOSS tools for developing these resources in order to enrich the classroom experiences. The online training will be live on NCERT official YouTube Channel- https://www.youtube.com/c/NCERTOFFICIAL and also be simulcast through PMeVidya DTH TV Channels numbered #6-12 and Jio TV mobile app.

Objectives

The objective of this online training is to orient teachers, teacher-educators and students, and various stakeholders on the multimedia resources, their types, availability of these resources, process of development and FOSS tools for developing these resources in order to enrich the classroom experiences.
