Online Training on
Development of eContent: Interactive Resources
In accordance with clause 23.6 of the National Education Policy 2020, multiple entities such as the NCERT, CIET, CBSE, NIOS, and other institutions, alongside all states, have been assigned the responsibility of continuously developing teaching-learning materials in various regional languages. These educational resources will be subsequently uploaded onto the DIKSHA platform. The budget allocation for the year 2023 demonstrates a commitment to promoting a more fair and inclusive educational system throughout India. Specifically, a substantial financial provision has been designated under the Digital India Programme to advance electronic content (eContent) and facilitate nationwide digital literacy. Clause 6.2.5 of the policy document further emphasizes the importance of establishing effective mechanisms to ensure that children with special needs have equal educational opportunities as their peers, enabling them to access quality education. Additionally, it highlights the necessity of developing high-quality interactive eContent in diverse formats to cater to a wide range of learners, including individuals with special needs, commonly referred to as "DIVYANG." By empowering both students and teachers across India, the policy aims to create an environment conducive to their growth and educational progress.
Interactive resources are instrumental in the development of engaging and effective learning experiences. By going beyond static text and images, these resources offer dynamic and interactive experiences that captivate learners and deepen their understanding. Through elements such as interactive quizzes, games, and simulations, learners become actively involved, boosting motivation and knowledge retention. These resources encourage active learning, enabling learners to explore, problem-solve, and think critically. Personalization is another advantage, allowing learners to navigate content at their own pace and receive tailored feedback. Real-life simulations provide practical application of concepts, while collaboration and communication features facilitate peer-to-peer learning and community building. Immediate feedback enhances self-reflection and adjustment of learning strategies. Multimodal learning engages diverse learning styles, and continuous assessment supports progress monitoring and targeted support. By leveraging interactive resources, educators can create immersive learning experiences that align with NEP 2020 recommendations, ultimately enhancing the quality and impact of online education.
In this context, CIET-NCERT is organizing an online training series on ‘Development of eContent’, every last week of the month from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm from Monday to Friday to orient the stakeholders on developing eContent.
