Online Training on
“Emerging Concerns in Cyberspace”
The exponential growth of the digital sphere has ushered in unprecedented opportunities for communication, learning, and professional development. However, this rapid digitalisation has also introduced a range of cyber-related threats that necessitate urgent attention. As the internet becomes increasingly embedded in daily life, individuals and institutions must develop a nuanced understanding of cyberspace risks to mitigate potential vulnerabilities effectively.
Cyber safety in an era driven by artificial intelligence (AI) presents unique challenges. AI-powered technologies significantly enhance digital experiences but also expose users to sophisticated cyber threats, including data breaches, identity theft, and algorithmic biases. Understanding the implications of AI in cybersecurity is crucial for fostering a more secure digital landscape.
The intersection of cyber safety and health is another area of growing concern. Prolonged digital engagement, cyberbullying, and exposure to harmful online content can have profound effects on mental well-being. The necessity of striking a balance between online and offline interactions, coupled with strategies for digital detoxification, is imperative for maintaining holistic well-being in an increasingly virtual world.
The gaming industry has witnessed a dramatic transformation with the advent of online multiplayer platforms, augmented reality, and blockchain-based gaming. However, these advancements have been accompanied by risks such as financial fraud, cyber harassment, and data exploitation. Examining the security dimensions of digital gaming will enable users to navigate virtual entertainment spaces with heightened awareness and responsibility.
Digital privacy has emerged as a pressing global issue, particularly concerning personal data protection, online surveillance, and ethical considerations in data usage. Clause 23.6 of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 underscores the importance of integrating digital literacy and cybersecurity awareness into education to equip learners with the skills necessary to navigate the digital world responsibly. By fostering digital citizenship, institutions can empower students and professionals to engage safely and ethically in online spaces.
Aligned with this vision, CIET-NCERT is organising a five-day online training programme titled “Emerging Concerns in Cyberspace.” This programme will be conducted in two versions: the English version from 3rd to 7th March 2025 and the Hindi version from 10th to 14th March 2025. The sessions, scheduled daily from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, will equip participants with practical strategies to enhance their understanding of cyber safety and digital well-being.
The sessions will be broadcast live on NCERT’s YouTube Channel and simulcast on PM eVidya DTH TV Channels (6 to 12) and the Jio TV mobile app. Participants will also have access to recorded sessions through a dedicated YouTube playlist, enabling them to revisit key insights at their convenience.
