Five Hours Online Training Series on
"Leveraging AI for Transforming School Education"
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 emphasizes the strategic use of emerging technologies to transform school education by improving access, equity, quality and learning outcomes. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a powerful enabler in this transformation, offering innovative solutions for personalized learning, adaptive instruction, assessment reform, learner support, and data‑informed decision making.
Aligned with the vision of NEP 2020 and the perspectives articulated in the National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage (NCF-FS) and the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE), the integration of AI in school education supports competency‑based, learner‑centric and inclusive pedagogical practices. AI-enabled tools such as intelligent tutoring systems, adaptive learning platforms, automated assessment, learning analytics and educational chatbots can assist teachers in addressing diverse learner needs, monitoring progress and enhancing classroom engagement.
National digital initiatives and platforms particularly DIKSHA provide a strong ecosystem for the adoption of AI-enabled educational resources and professional learning opportunities. At the same time, the ethical and responsible use of AI with due consideration to data privacy, transparency, fairness and inclusivity remain central to its effective implementation in schools. AI is envisioned as a supportive tool that augments teachers’ pedagogical capabilities rather than replacing the human element of teaching.
In this context, CIET‑NCERT is organising a five hours online training series titled “Leveraging AI for Transforming School Education” during 19 - 23 January, 2026 in the English version and 26 - 30 January, 2026 in the Hindi version from 4.00 pm to 5.00 pm. The programme aims to build AI literacy among educators, support policy-driven and pedagogically sound AI integration in schools, enhance personalised and interactive learning through AI and promote ethical and responsible use of AI in education. The sessions will be broadcast live on NCERT’s YouTube Channel and simulcast on PM e‑Vidya DTH TV Channels (6 to 12) and the Jio TV mobile app. Recorded sessions will also be made available through a dedicated YouTube playlist, allowing participants to revisit key concepts and instructional strategies at their convenience.
Objectives:
After completion of the training series, the learner will be able to:
- develop foundational understanding of Artificial Intelligence, including its key concepts, components, and working principles, among school educators and academic leaders.
- familiarise participants with policy frameworks and governance models guiding responsible AI integration in school education.
- enable the use of AI-driven classroom practices for personalised, adaptive and interactive learning experiences.
- support effective pedagogical integration of AI through practical strategies aligned with curriculum and learning outcomes.
- promote ethical, safe and responsible use of AI, ensuring data privacy, fairness, inclusivity and student well-being.
