Online Training on
“Leveraging Digital Technology for School and Teacher Education”
Technological integration in learning and education is an inevitable part of the ever-changing technological world. Leveraging technology is an essential part of every learning mode. The National Education Policy 2020, released by the Ministry of Education (MoE) strongly emphasizes digital and online learning to make education accessible to every child in India. It also aims to completely transform the Indian education system and make the country a “Global Knowledge Superpower” by 2030. In clause 24.1, it recognizes the importance of leveraging the advantages of technology and its potential risks and dangers as well. Para 24.2 & 24.4 also stated the emerging importance of leveraging technology for teaching-learning at all levels from school to higher education. Incorporating technology in the teaching-learning process can be an effective way to develop learners and educators for better learning and education outcomes. The benefits of online/ digital education cannot be leveraged unless the digital divide is eliminated through concerted efforts, such as the Digital India Campaign and the availability of affordable computing devices. It requires carefully designed and appropriately scaled pilot studies to determine how the benefits of online/ digital education can be reaped while addressing or mitigating the downsides.
Leveraging digital technology seeks out ways to employ technology to optimize organizational and individual performance. One of the biggest advantages of leveraging digital technology in the classroom is access to vast amounts of information and digital tools that provides educators and learners with a virtually limitless supply of information on a wide range of topics, which can be invaluable in their academic pursuits. To realize the potential of digital technology and plan its implementation, it is essential to orient various stakeholders of school education.
In this context, CIET-NCERT is organizing an online training series on ‘NEP 2020: Recommendations on ET & ICT’ every second week of the month from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm from Monday to Friday to orient the stakeholders on stakeholders of school education on the recommendations of NEP 2020 in leveraging digital technology.
