Online Training on

"Secure Practices for Digital Gaming"

In line with NEP 2020's emphasis on cyber safety education, it is crucial to integrate secure practices for digital gaming into academic programs. As online gaming becomes increasingly popular among students, ensuring they understand the importance of safeguarding their personal information and practicing responsible behavior in virtual spaces is essential. By teaching students about the risks associated with digital gaming, such as cyberbullying, online fraud, and identity theft, schools can prepare them to recognize and respond to these challenges effectively. Incorporating digital literacy skills into the curriculum can empower students to create strong passwords, manage privacy settings, and avoid sharing sensitive information on gaming platforms.

Current scenario of the world calls for the development of a safe and supportive digital environment, where students can engage in gaming without compromising their security. Secure practices in digital gaming should also include educating students about the ethical implications of gaming, such as respecting others' privacy, avoiding cheating, and promoting positive online behavior. With a growing number of multiplayer games and interactive platforms, fostering a culture of responsible digital citizenship will ensure that students not only enjoy gaming but do so in a way that is safe, secure, and aligned with the principles of digital well-being. By embedding these practices into cyber safety education, schools can help students navigate the online gaming world securely and confidently.

To support this, CIET-NCERT in collaboration with ISEA, CDAC, MeitY, Hyderabad has organized a series of training sessions on 'Cyber Safety and Security' to raise awareness about cyber safety and security. For the month of November, 2024 it is proposed to conduct a 5 hours online training on “Secure Practices for Digital Gaming” from November 4 - 8, 2024 in English version and November 11 - 15, 2024 in Hindi version from 4.00 pm - 5.00 pm to enhance the understanding of teachers, students, teacher official educators, and various stakeholders. The online training will be live on NCERT YouTube Channel- https://www.youtube.com/c/NCERTOFFICIAL and also be simulcast through PMeVidya DTH TV Channels numbered #6-12 and Jio TV mobile app.
