Online Training on
“Cyber Clubs”
NCERT has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing cyber safety and security education in schools. In the context of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the establishment of cyber clubs holds significant importance for both students and teachers. These clubs help students learn about cyber safety and security. They also raise awareness about cybersecurity issues, which is an important part of the NEP. An initiative has been launched to encourage the establishment of specialized cyber clubs within schools, with the primary aim of raising awareness among teachers and students about the critical importance of cyber safety in our modern digital environment. The objective of this initiative is to empower teachers and students with the knowledge and skills required to navigate the digital realm securely and responsibly.
Cyber clubs are like centers where students dive into the ever-changing world of cybersecurity, think about the ethics of using technology, and learn how to stay safe online. These clubs are essential for giving people the knowledge and skills they need to navigate the internet securely and responsibly. They cover technical stuff, as well as psychological, physical, ethical, and legal aspects of cybersecurity. This prepares individuals to do well in today's digital world. These clubs give students a chance to learn by doing and encourage them to come up with new ideas, which supports the policy's goal of helping students develop in all aspects and become critical thinkers. For educators, cyber clubs serve as dynamic platforms for professional growth, enabling them to stay abreast of emerging technologies, innovative teaching methods, and effective digital resource integration in classrooms. Through active participation in cyber club activities, teachers further advance the policy's goal of empowering them to create dynamic, technology-enriched learning environments that cater to the diverse needs of students in today's digital era.
In this context, CIET-NCERT organizes a training series on ‘Cyber Safety and Security’ in the first week of every month to create awareness on cyber safety and security.
