“Enhancing Mathematical Competency through AI”

Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), a constituent unit of NCERT, is developing an e-resource for students based on textbooks. Its major aim is to promote the utilisation of educational technologies, viz. Audio, Video, multimedia packages, Satellite communications and cyber media, either separately or in combinations. This institute undertakes activities to widen educational opportunities, promote equity, and improve the quality of educational processes at the school level.

Educational repositories hosted by the institute, like DIKSHA (One Nation One Digital Platform) and ePathshala, host a large number of educational resources in various school subjects and in different Indian languages for Foundational, Middle and Secondary classes. Resources are made available in different formats such as documents, images, graphics, animation, audio, video and interactive programmes.

As digital tools and platforms have been proven to benefit students, teachers, and school leaders in enhancing learning, administration, and collaboration, Google Workspace for Education and allied applications will be promoted with a clear system for feedback and user ratings to ensure their effectiveness and quality in school transformation. NEP 2020 envisions the integration of digital technology at all levels of education to ensure inclusive, equitable and quality learning.

The policy highlights the need for robust digital infrastructures, data-driven decision-making, and capacity building of teachers and leaders to effectively integrate ICT in education. In this context, Google Workspace for Education and associated tools offer a comprehensive digital ecosystem that aligns with the vision of NEP 2020 to make schools more collaborative, transparent and efficient.

In this connection, CIET in collaboration with Google for Education is organizing a special series of 4 days online training programme on “Enhancing Mathematical Competency through AI,” scheduled from January 12–15, 2026 from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM. Each session will be accessed through NCERT YouTube official (NCERTOFFICIAL) and PM eVidya DTH TV channel through live streaming.

Objectives of Training:

  1. To equip mathematics teachers with skills to design AI-enabled, competency-based learning experiences using digital tools.
  2. To enhance teachers’ capacity to use AI and digital platforms for formative assessment, feedback, and analysis of student learning data.
  3. To align mathematics classroom practices with NEP 2020 by promoting technology integration, creativity, inclusivity, and efficient digital workflows.
