Five-Hour Online Training on
“Online and Digital Education in the Lens of NEP 2020”
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 envisions the effective use of online and digital education to transform
the teaching–learning ecosystem by enhancing access, equity, quality, and relevance. It emphasizes the integration
of technology-enabled learning platforms, digital content, immersive technologies, and data-driven approaches to
support learner-centric, inclusive, and competency-based education across all stages of schooling. Aligned with
the perspectives of NEP 2020, the National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage (NCF-FS) and the National
Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE), online and digital education plays a crucial role in
curriculum implementation, teacher professional development, and continuous learner engagement. National digital
platforms such as DIKSHA serve as key enablers for providing high-quality e-content, online courses, assessments,
and professional learning opportunities for teachers and students. The rapid advancement of digital technologies,
including immersive tools like Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR), has opened new possibilities for
experiential and interactive learning. Further, the use of educational data and analytics supports informed
decision making, learner progress monitoring, and personalized learning pathways. Integrating digital technologies
meaningfully into teaching–learning practices strengthens pedagogical effectiveness and aligns classroom processes
with contemporary educational needs.
Aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020, CIET-NCERT is organising a five hours online
training programme titled “Online and Digital Education in the Lens of NEP 2020” during

practices of online and digital education as articulated in NEP 2020, while enabling them to explore practical
strategies for integrating digital platforms, immersive technologies, and data-driven approaches into teaching and
learning. The sessions will be broadcast live on NCERT’s YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/c/NCERTOFFICIAL and simulcast on PM
e-Vidya DTH TV Channels (6 to 12) and the Jio TV mobile app. Participants will also be able to access recorded
sessions through a dedicated YouTube playlist, allowing them to revisit essential pedagogical concepts and
instructional strategies at their convenience.
