Online Training on Accessible Digital Resources and Assistive Technologies

Organized by CIET-NCERT

NEP 2020, vision for educational technology recognizes that new technology will change not just what students learn in the classroom but how they learn, therefore the thrust of technological interventions will be for improving teaching learning and evaluation processes, supporting teacher preparation and professional development, enhancing educational access and streamlining educational planning, management, and administration including processes related to admissions, attendance, assessment, etc. To keep up with this vision, CIET-NCERT is organising a 5-day training session on “Digital Training and Assistive Technologies”.

Accessible Digital content becomes an important factor when it comes to the education of Children with Special Needs(CWSN), especially in an inclusive setup. Accessible digital content provides the opportunity to acquire the same information, engage in the same interactions, and enjoy the same services as a person without a disability in an equally effective and equally integrated manner, with substantially equivalent ease of use. A person with a disability must be able to obtain the information as fully, equally, and independently as a person without a disability.

These 5-day sessions shed light on the inside of Accessible Digital Content - the Why to How to Where? The sessions include topics ranging from Policies, Needs, and Challenges of Accessible Digital Resources, Principles of UDL to various examples of Accessible Digital Content.

All the live sessions under Accessible Digital Resources online training will be telecast live on DTH Channels for class 1 to 12 and simulcast on NCERT OFFICIAL YouTube Channel -https://www.youtube.com/c/NCERTOFFICIAL from 21-25 November 2022 at 4:00 pm to 5:00pm. The webinar sessions would be bilingual (Hindi and English) accompanied by Indian Sign Language Interpreter (ISL). The discussion will be facilitated by a professional anchor.
