The online training on Creating Visual Learning for the Classroom is designed to help teachers create clear, engaging, and inclusive visual resources for classroom use. It aligns with the broader vision of CIET-NCERT’s online training programme, which promotes the use of technology in the teaching-learning process and draws upon the emphasis placed by NEP 2020 on the extensive use of technology, removal of language barriers, improved access, and support for educational planning and management.
This training moves beyond simple tool use and focuses on the meaningful educational use of visual design. It supports teachers in developing classroom resources such as presentations, posters, infographics, worksheets, certificates, interactive teaching aids, digital portfolios, and other learning materials that improve communication, comprehension, participation, and learner engagement.
The course may be seen as a natural extension of CIET-NCERT’s continuing professional development efforts in areas such as Instructional Design for Techno-Pedagogy Integration, Open Educational Resources (OER), Inclusive Education and Digital Technology, Development of Video Resources, and ICT-based teaching of school subjects.
Organised as a precursor to three courses that will be available on the DIKSHA portal, this 5-day online training helps teachers progressively understand visual design for learning, apply it in lesson planning and classroom communication, and use it creatively for advanced classroom practice.
Overall, the training seeks to strengthen teachers’ ability to create visual learning experiences that are meaningful, accessible, and inclusive. It supports the larger goal of integrating technology with pedagogy in practical ways so that classroom resources become more engaging and learner-friendly.
