"Robotics and Artificial Intelligence in Education"

Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), a constituent unit of NCERT, develops and promotes technology-enabled educational resources to strengthen teaching and learning at the school level. Through national platforms such as DIKSHA and ePathshala, the institute provides multilingual digital learning resources in formats including audio, video, graphics, animations, and interactive programmes to widen educational access, promote equity, and improve the quality of educational processes in alignment with the vision of NEP 2020.

In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) and the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE 2023), which emphasise technology as a critical enabler for improving teaching, learning, and assessment, and encourage hands-on, experiential, and competency-based learning, robotics is emerging as an effective platform to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applications. Robotics-based learning supports integrated STEM and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education by combining scientific, mathematical, and computational concepts with practical engineering design and problem-solving experiences. This enables learners to design, build, test, and refine solutions while developing critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and technological literacy.

In this context, CIET, NCERT, in collaboration with Robotex India, is organising a Six-day online training programme on “Robotics and Artificial Intelligence in Education,” scheduled from 16 to 24 February 2026 (Monday to Thursday) from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The sessions will be broadcast through NCERT’s official YouTube channel (NCERTOFFICIAL) and PM eVidya DTH TV channel via live streaming from the NCERT studio and will include expert talks and demonstrations to support the integration of robotics-based experiential learning in schools. The complete series will also be compiled and made available as a course on the DIKSHA portal to ensure wider access for the educational community. Teachers, teacher educators, students, and other stakeholders will be invited to participate in the programme.

Objectives of the Training Programme:

  • To equip teachers with the ability to design competency-based, hands-on learning experiences integrating robotics, Artificial Intelligence, IoT, and machine learning.
  • To strengthen teachers’ understanding and use of design thinking and computational thinking to guide students in problem identification, solution design, and prototype development.
  • To enable teachers to mentor students in experimenting, coding, testing, and refining technology-based projects that promote creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration.
  • To support the integration of experiential and inquiry-driven learning in classrooms, aligned with the vision of NEP 2020 and NCF-SE 2023.
Who can Participate?

Teachers, Teacher Educators and stakeholders, etc.
