Online Training on
Financial Safety in Cyberspace
In the digital era, the National Education Policy of 2020 (NEP 2020) establishes the groundwork for a successful educational ecosystem, emphasizing cybersecurity as a critical component. As educational institutions increasingly rely on online platforms for financial transactions, data storage, and communication, ensuring cybersecurity has become paramount. These institutions handle a vast amount of sensitive information, such as tuition payments, student fees, and personal data, making them prime targets for cybercriminals. The protection of credit card details, bank account numbers, social security numbers, and other personally identifiable information is crucial. Implementing stringent security protocols like encryption, multi-factor authentication, and regular security audits can significantly mitigate the risks of data breaches and financial fraud. Additionally, educational institutions must remain vigilant, staying abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends and threats, and continuously updating their defenses to counteract new vulnerabilities.
Financial safety in cyberspace extends beyond technical measures; it also involves educating and empowering all stakeholders. Comprehensive cybersecurity training programs for parents, educators, administrators, and students are essential to cultivate a culture of digital financial responsibility. These initiatives should emphasize safe online financial practices, recognizing phishing attempts, and understanding the importance of data privacy in financial transactions. By fostering collective responsibility and vigilance, educational ecosystems can build resilience against financial cyber threats. This proactive approach not only safeguards individuals from financial loss but also strengthens the integrity and trust in the digital education system. Through such training, we can ensure a secure and trustworthy digital environment, enabling educational institutions to thrive in the digital age while protecting the financial well-being of all stakeholders.
In this context, CIET-NCERT has organized a series of training sessions on 'Cyber Safety and Security' at the beginning of each month to raise awareness among various stakeholders about cyber safety and security.
